Westgate Resort-Myrtle Beach

Hey babes! The warm weather is here and I couldn't be more excited to be back in the sun and by the water. A lot of you that have been following for a while (or even the past year) might have noticed how much I visit and love the beach. It is my happy place for sure! Myrtle Beach is where I specially go often because it is only about three hour drive away from Charlotte and I've just grown up going there!

I have made some of the best memories of my life is this city with my family and friends! I actually took my very first steps as a baby on the sand in Myrtle with my Great Grandpa 😇 Then, grew up going year after year for dance competitions and later in high school for spring break a couple times. It is always a good time with live music, fresh seafood, and the best sunrises/sunsets.

This beach means so much to my family that my mom and my grandpa both own a place in the North Myrtle area. The part of the beach we stay in is close to Cherry Grove if that sounds more familiar! I've spent a lot of time there the last several years (which is about 30 minutes away) so I was very excited for this experience at Westgate Myrtle Beach Oceanfront Resort. It was a great opportunity to stay in this area of Myrtle and I had an absolute blast!

You can find the resort across from the Family Kingdom and about a 10-15 walk to the boardwalk. The Myrtle Beach Boardwalk has so many fun things to do and see like the Skywheel. The walk there is full of food, drinks, and photo ops to grab on the way. It is also two and a half miles to Broadway at the Beach and three miles from the Coastal Grand Mall. Perfect places to explore on a rainy day! The convention center I used to perform at is about 15 minutes or so away from here.

Westgate Myrtle Beach hotel is right near Mr. Sub too which is one of my favorite lunch places since I was a kid! They have the best oven toasted subs. My family likes to call it "an old school style" one and this place really is. The decor hasn't changed since I was a little girl, but neither has the food. So yum!

Some other places I love around here for years: Sea Captains House, Carolina Roadhouse, Johnny D's.

I really appreciated how many food/drink options Westgate Resort had on their grounds to pick from. It is nice because sometimes after a long day in the sun and especially if you have a big group or kids, it is too much to load up in the car and go out to eat. They offer a few options on-site like Drafts Bar and Grill. We grabbed a beer and some "totchos" here after checking in before going out to explore Friday night!

I am a huge Starbucks (well more just coffee fanatic) so I was very happy when I first saw that they served it. It was right downstairs in my tower at Beachside Bistro. It was convenient to grab one in the early AM before hitting the beach.

Other places on the property? They also served ice cream at Beachside Bistro, pizza at Cordovano Joe's and drinks outside by the pool at Coconut Willy's pool bar. Frozen watermelon marg anyone?! Super refreshing drink to have in hand. Westgate had cool tiki head cups you could get the cocktails in!

In addition to the food and drink spots, the hotel had a nice fitness center with a view of the pool and ocean, game room, and crafts scheduled during the days for kids to enjoy. The resort did allow pets too which is PAWesome! Give them a call or visit their website to see if yours meets requirements.

Mine is too big so I left my labradoodle Noah with my mom so I could enjoy myself and the super nice room without a worry. When I first checked in the lobby, I appreciated how helpful the staff was and then how clean the room was too.

The resort employees took safety precautions around the hotel and I noticed my remote was bagged up from being sanitized. It immediately made me feel a lot more comfortable. Speaking of comfort, this place was a great place to relax overall! They had several options when it came to pools and you really can't top the direct beach access.

I loved the big balcony with the view of the gorgeous water. It was my favorite part of the resort weekend. I enjoyed a sunrise with coffee out there, worked on my laptop, listened to some music, and did some stretches on it during my stay.

Being close to the blue ocean makes everything better. SO ZEN! They have different room options to pick from here and a lot of theirs have been newly renovated. Some are actually owned in the resort too!

In addition to the balcony, my other favorite part of Westgate Oceanfront Myrtle Beach was a pathway I found. It was along the beach and was filled with beautiful blooms everywhere to look at. It led to this pier in the photo below and then on to the boardwalk if you kept going. It was such a peaceful morning!

The path was the perfect place for a long walk and workout. I love to get a good sweat on at the beach! Anyone else?! When I sea food, I eat it there so I like to stay somewhat in my routine lol 😆

Nothing like a day in the sun then a good shower, good meal, and a good night's sleep to do it all over again. I slept amazing here and really enjoyed the hospitality. If you are looking to take a trip to Myrtle soon, check out this beachfront resort as one of your options to stay.

As always, you can find all the outfits linked on my Liketoknow.it app from the trip if you are shopping for some summer looks. It is all rounded up on there! My username is queencitychic.
