Lake Wylie Escape
Hi friends! Summer is almost here and weather wise, it definitely already feels like it is! I have been getting my patio ready and spending more time by the water. I recently spent a couple days in Belmont, NC at a Lake Wylie home. It is a cool AirBnb that you can rent out so I've been looking forward to sharing all the details on this lakefront escape.
If you are looking for a pet-friendly lakehouse that is not far from Charlotte, this place is it! The property is located deep in the cove and at the end of the road, giving it a lot of privacy. It was a great getaway place to vacation at and I miss it already. We first connected on Instagram @ellajos_lakefront_escape
The hosts also have a doodle and welcomed Noah to come for a stay. It's so exciting and such a blessing to be able to travel with my dog to review cool places like this. I was able to meet the owner the day we got in. Mike was an awesome guy and I'm glad his family opens the doors for others to come stay at their beautiful property. The views, amenities, and location all made the trip special.
Whether you are working, relaxing, or playing at the lakehouse, it is equipped with everything you need. When it came to cooking or enjoying the fire pit, we were set. The one thing I personally forgot was a dog bowl and they even had that! It is a three bedroom home and there is a pull-out couch in the office. The master bedroom and the office are both set up to work from with monitors, internet, and docking stations.
One of my favorite parts of the house was the garage. It wasn't just any garage.. it was filled with fun games like ping pong. They also had a foosball table, the Pop-a-Shot basketball game, and cornhole to enjoy in the yard. The outdoor area was perfect to hang out. There were decks on both levels with comfy seating like rocking chairs and a swing.
I enjoyed sitting out there looking at the water with coffee or while we ate lunch and dinner. The sunrise in the morning and string lights at night made it even better. The gas grill was there to use and the kitchen was stocked with tons of utensils to cook with. We made easy meals and tried to spend as much time as we could outside soaking up the sun. The beach was a nice area to lay out and chat with a beverage.
If you are more of an activity person, they had paddle boats, paddle boards, and a kayak. I had the best time exploring this new area to me on Wylie! It was surrounded with other pretty homes and we also saw a ton of fish. At night, it was amazing to wind down with some smores by the fire for dessert. There is a cute firepit area to gather around and plenty of wood ready for you to use.
This part of the yard was extra peaceful. The hammock is under the trees and I totally took a nap in it after throwing the ball many, many times for Noah. He is obsessed! I can't even begin to explain how happy was. He ran around the huge yard full of green grass and continued exploring the house smiling as big as he could.
When it come to the rules about dogs and all of the details on renting the home, visit this site right here. You can book short term or long term stays. A few more pointers I want to mention if you plan on going!
They do have a laundry room there.
There is a Harris Teeter about five minutes away.
The owner can help set up a boat rental for you.
The house is conveniently close to town if you prefer to explore out for drinks and food!
Don't forget stuff for SMORES! One less thing to grab at the store.
We ventured out for breakfast one morning at Cherubs Cafe and loved walking around looking in all the storefronts after. I also went out for an iced coffee another A.M at The Everyday Market. I saw a ton of spots I want to come back to try. Some advice from Mike (the host) who also lives local suggests...
The Station for a patio, simple tasty food and great drink selection
The Jailhouse for a unique spot with yummy cocktails.. It is built in an old original Belmont jail.
Nellie's for live music most nights and a rooftop atmosphere
Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden is a great place close by to enjoy on a nice day
Heirloom for a nicer meal out. (I've been to their old location and loved the eats!)
Primal Brewing and Jekyll & Hyde Taphouse for beers
My family lake house is on the other side kind of so I had a fabulous time in this area and I can't wait to get back down here.I was also impressed with how fast we got there. Hope that wherever you are coming from (if you book), you drive safe and enjoy your summer!
Now who else is excited it's the weekend?! I'm just wanting to be back here to be honest- its been so toasty out lately! I slept really good too and LOVE when rentals have cozy beds. The worst is when you come to relax and have to sleep on hard rock pillows or something lol. They also have a big closet and gorgeous bathtub in the masters that is perfect to enjoy with a skincare mask on and/or bubbly.
I hope you all have a great weekend with some self-care and stay tuned for my next addition to the blog. All of these looks will be linked on my ltk page like always for you. Let me know any questions you have on this stay or feel free to reach out directly to their Instagram.
With love,
Rachel and Noah
