Behind the Blogger

Hey there! My name is Rachel. I was born and raised in the amazing Charlotte, N.C. I graduated from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a degree in Communication Studies with a concentration in Public Relations. I’ve always loved all things social media, fashion, and food related. So, I decided to share this love with the world when I started my blog in 2014 as a Senior in college and there was no looking back from there.

I wanted to highlight current, chic places to eat, shop, and what events to attend. Now, I share almost every aspect of my daily life through two big passions mine...photography and writing. I also enjoy exploring new cities, dancing, spending time with my family, friends, and adorable labradoodle. I’m following my dreams everyday doing what I love. With that being said, I hope to inspire others students, bloggers, people to appreciate the good things in life… not only in the QC, but everywhere, such as a beautiful city sunset and the perfect Sunday outfit!

Where should I take friends/family coming to town?

I love showing the view to visitors at Fahrenheit with evening cocktails or for Sunday brunch. Romare Bearden Park is fun to walk through to show off the city skyline and maybe grab a coffee or bite nearby in Uptown. Not Just Coffee is super close and the French Quarter too which has endless lunch (or bar) options! Explore South End and Plaza Midwood for endless art to see and brews to try.

How did you get started? Any tips?

In college, I created the blog... I continued sharing and building my following ever since. Some tips are to just start somewhere, don’t worry what other people think and professional photography is key.

Where is your favorite brunch in Charlotte?

I go to brunch most at Café Monte. I also suggest Superica, Toast in Dilworth, 300 East, Bricktops, Village Tavern and Snooze AM Eatery off the top of my head. Lots of good ones here in town!

Do you blog as your full-time job?

In addition to blogging, I also do freelance social media consulting and managing for businesses. I enjoy helping others grow their brands online too!

What is your favorite food?

Sushi and pizza are tied- tough choice! I am also a big big lover of Greek food.

I have two brothers and I am the middle child. We are all very close and not only look similar, but also have similar interests!
